Shared Pain

“I am so shocked that this "Tear Drop" 9/11 memorial exists right across from NYC and yet we do not hear about it. This is a 100-foot tall monument given to the U.S. back in 2006 by the Russian people in memory of all those that lost their lives on 9/11. The breaking in the cracked facade forms the shape of the two towers. The giant suspended tear drop symbolizes all the tears the world had shed in response to this terrifying day. Absolutely beautiful. It is located in Bayonne, New Jersey, which is just on the other side of the water near the Statue of Liberty. It is a shame that such a beautiful memorial is given barely any attention and I think it should be shown every year around this time. Harrowing Moments

Deeply heartbreaking, my whole life this incident has been with me in heart. A harrowing documentary covering the experiences of the members of the crew responsible (without real insight) into the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The men share their shock and horror at what happened that day. Although they talk about their personal pain and the loss of over 18,500 of their crew eventually to varying forms of cancer they’re is no mention of the devastating deaths of 129,000-226,000 in Hiroshima and Nagasaki (half of which occurred on the first day). Although there are no words to acknowledge this we can see that the pain in their eyes tells the story, their hearts haunted forever. Human kind haunted forever I for one do not want to see another moment like this, the depth of pain and suffering humans can inflict upon each other is so painfully sad. This documentary although I’m sure shocking needs to be seen in the hope that it is a real deterrent. The hurt hearts that hurt other hearts leaves mine speechless and I have a deep wish for the freedom of suffering, particularly from anger which when not seen through eyes or hearts with wisdom only continues to cause further anger. Sad sad day. As an aside: the day of the boxing day Tsunami although natural in occurrence left me with a similar speechlessness... mass disappearance in an instant, unchangeable, deeply profound.
